About us

The member churches of the "United Apostolic Church Europe" are independent communities in the tradition of the catholic-apostolic revival movement which started in the beginning of the 19th century from England and Scotland.

The goal of our faith is the reconciliation of mankind with God and the union with Jesus Christ at his return. We want to spread and promote the christian faith on the basis of the Holy Scripture. According to our
creed Jesus Christ is the head of his church which he maintains through the Holy Spirit. We are convinced that he therefore has sent and is still sending apostles. We want to evolve as emancipated and active christians through our personal and free belief in Jesus Christ.

The word "apostolic" refers to the sending from Jesus Christ, as well as the notion "apostle". As one should not understand the notion "catholic" (= universal) only in a (denominational) sense, so it is with the word "apostolic" (= sent). Jesus Christ sent his disciples into the world to preach his gospel "Apostolic" does not mean separation from other denominations or churches but correlation with the teaching of the apostles (see gospels, acts of the apostles, letters). The rule for all our teaching has to be the teaching of
Jesus.

Our apostles as well as all other ministries understand their service not as profession but as vocation. They do not have any special training for their office in church (= laymen). The main focus of their service is to
proclaim to the people the redeeming and joyful message of Jesus. At the beginning among our various national churches christians gathered, who separated themselves individually or with their whole parish from the New Apostolic Church or who had to leave this church. Nowadays our communities evolved as a spiritual home for many people regardless of their former denominational or ideological origin.

Since 1994 the "Apostolische Gemeinschaft" in Germany incorporates also the "Reformiert-Apostolischer Gemeindebund" of the former German Democratic Republic.

In Europe you will find churches in Germany, France, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and (the Czech Republic).

Overseas in Australia, Brazil, India, on the Philippine Islands, in South-Africa and in the USA.
